Sany Gets into the European Market of Empty Container Handlers

  • 2015.06.10

TOC Europe is the premier event for the container industry, a meeting place for actors from the maritime sector, from ports and terminals around the world. At the fair with over 160 stands, the exhibitors will present a wide range in the field of port and terminal technology. This year's theme is "Port Centric Logistics Village", which deals with the hinterland of the ports.

Sany Europe showed the latest "built in Germany" Tier4f Empty Container Handler (ECH) at TOC CSC Europe in Rotterdam in June 2015. The new product has attracted big attention and interest from customers during the exhibition.

Germany based Sany Europe signed a contract with Van Doorn Group for 6+1 dedicated 7-high stacking ECHs.

Container logistics and depot operator Van Doorn has ordered these ECHs in one go in a direct contract with Sany Europe. It is reported that Van Doorn is a big demander of ECHs, their handlers work generally 3000 hours per year in Rotterdam. And the actual contract is heavily focused on the service commitment of Sany Europe.

The machines will be fitted with the Elme 582 double box attachment with double twistlocks to handle 2 over 6. In developing this new product line, Sany has paid particular attention to mast design and construction as well as mast cylinder positions to ensure the stability at high stacking. The machines are fitted with a Stage IV Volvo 8-litre engine and a Kessler D81 drive axle.
