Sany Thailand at Asia Rail Summit 2015

  • 2015.06.27

Sany Thailand, along with its regional dealers, participated in the Asia Rail Summit 2015 (ARS 2015) held in Centara Grand at Central World Bangkok from June 25 to 26, 2015.

As an Asian leading rail conference, the summit brought together over 270 rail professionals from Southeast Asia as well as leaders of over 30 international rail operators. Previously Thailand's government had approved an investment of 75 billion yuan in Thailand's infrastructural projects. These projects include the reconstruction of Thailand's old rail facilities, Bangkok's light rail project and port overhaul project. High-speed railways will also be constructed to link Thailand to China, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore. As Southeast Asia has always being an important market to suppliers in the rail industry, the persistence of rail development in this region has affirmed Southeast's key position in the global rail market.

Under the theme of "Driving the Asia Rail Industry Forward", leaders of international rail operators such as State Railway of Thailand, Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, Light Rail Transit Authority of the Philippines, Land Transport Authority of Singapore, MTR Corporation Limited of Hong Kong, Toll Royal Railways of Cambodia and Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation shared and exchanged their railway development plans respectively, and had heated discussions about how to accomplish regional linkage to promote the fast development of rail in Asia.

As a renowned construction machinery manufacturer in China and the world, Sany Heavy Industry attracted attention from guests and experts at the summit. Particularly, Sany Heavy Industry became well-known in the rail industry after winning Thailand's largest-ever construction machinery order with Unique, a local engineering contracting giant in 2013 to provide more than 200 units of Sany equipment in the construction of Thailand's State Railway Station. Guests visited Sany's booth to inquire about its products and negotiate about cooperation. Sany Thailand reached initial cooperation intent with key rail operators in this region at the exhibition. In the coming three years, Sany Thailand will seize the opportunity of increasing railway investment to join the railway construction projects and deliver quality products to boost railway construction in Thailand.
