In the documentary program of Discovery, host and architect Danny Forster travelled across China, exploring the country's most ambitious projects and technological innovations to gain insight into China's newly urbanized society. During the journey, he also visited Sany, located in Changsha, Hunan province.
Through the years of doing business since its foundation in 1989, Sany has become the largest construction equipment manufacture in all of China. It builds the machine, pumps the concrete, digs the foundation and lifts the steel, which powers the single largest construction boom in the world. It builds the tallest skyscrapers like the Shanghai tower, setting a new world record for pumping concrete, 620 meters high, along with the airports, harbors, roads and rail with the state of the art machine made in China.
He Dongdong, vice president of Sany Heavy Industry, said in the interview by Discovery “Companies like Sany, have the chance to contribute to almost every aspects of China’s reinvention. Sany is not just a part of the urbanization of China but really the transformation. Almost all the constructive jobs need our machines, for example, the tallest building in China and also the infrastructure like the highway, the high speed railway and also the huge harbors and largest bridges.”
Danny also visited the monitoring department of Sany. Once the products go on site, the company will keep a close watch. Sany will monitor its equipment in different cities all over China.
The machines are the tools that build modern China. They are advance and powerful, and they are also surprisingly graceful. For more details about the documentary, please see the video below.
