Sany Stays Ahead of the Industry with Technological Innovation

Sany Heavy Industry Chairman Liang Wengen and Chief Engineer Yi Xiaogang attended China's National Science and Technology Innovation Conference on May 30. The biennial event is the highest-level conference for science and technology in China, and as an industry leader, Sany was the only construction machinery company participating.

In his address at the conference in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that developing cutting-edge science and technology was a national priority and that China should strive to take a leading role in scientific and technological research.

The Head of State has previously lauded Sany's innovation and remarked on its contribution to the revitalization of China's manufacturing industry.

In line with its corporate mission: “Quality Changes the World,” Sany has devoted itself to developing and manufacturing high-quality, industry-leading products. It has been reinvesting 5–7% of its annual sales revenue in R&D every year to ensure that its products remain at the forefront of technological development.

Sany has gained national and global distinction for innovation, winning the prestigious National Science and Technology Progress Award three times and receiving the highest honor in China's construction machinery sector — the State Technological Innovation Award — twice.

Other awards, including the Asia Pacific Quality Organization's Global Performance Excellence Award, and Red Star and Golden Pin design awards, have been particularly given in recognition of Sany's highly innovative hydraulic excavators.

So far, Sany has been granted an industry-topping 6,000 patents for technologies, systems and designs it has developed, and continues to expand technological research at the international R&D centers it has established in Germany, Brazil, India and the United States.
