Dark challenges - SANY Foundation initiates welfare activity, undertaking social duties at Bauma Exp

SANY Foundation initiated the “Darkness Challenge” welfare activity at Bauma China exhibition in Shanghai, 22 to 25 November 2016. During the three days, a total of 781 lamps have been raised to be used at rural area to lighten children’s way to school. On Dec 5, SANY Foundation will head for three schools to donate these lamps, located in southeast China’s Yunnan province.

The “Darkness Challenge” welfare activity calls on public to pay attention to children in poverty-stricken area who need lights during their way to school. The task for experiencer was to complete a series of activities, such as pack up stationery supplies in dark environment. If anyone on the site successfully completed the task, SANY Foundation would donate a solar lamp to the children. The activity was warmly received by the visitors both from China and abroad. College students in Shanghai also actively participated in the activity, working as a volunteer.

The biggest impression for all the participators is that living without light is really helpless. “The dark environment is very horrible and we can feel the children’s hardship.” A couple from Shanghai said.

The moment when the light emerged, everyone had an empathy with the children’s struggle in darkness and they all expressed their sincere wishes for the children.

SANY is the only company to hold such a large-scale public benefit activity at the exhibition, whose social responsibility has won the widely recognition in the society. In the limited exhibition area, SANY Group cooperated with SANY Foundation set up an exhibition hall specialized for public befit activity.
