Chinese President praised SANY\'s active involvement in 2010 Chile rescue

China's President Xi Jinping highly complimented SANY's endeavor in Chile rescue back in 2010, during his recent visit in Chile.

In Xi’s byline article for Chile’s leading newspaper El Mercurio, he mentioned in the 2010 Chile Mine Accident, a Chinese equipment-making company had been actively involved in the rescue work, with 33 miners’ lives being saved. The Chinese company is exactly SANY Heavy Industry Co.

The equipment used in the rescue work is SANY SCC4000 crawler crane, equipped with state-of-the-art electric control and hydraulic systems. According to the rescue plan, a 700-meter deep passage needed be opened to fetch the trapped 33 miners before being lifted out by a special capsule. Any accident might bring about severe disasters, so the hoisting machine was required to meet high standard stability.

The SCC4000 crawler crane successfully completed the rescue task because of its advanced hydraulic technology which ensures the stability and reliability of its transmission system. Moreover, the sufficient safety margin also guarantees the successful elevation of the miners.

Besides participating in the copper mine rescue, the SCC4000 crawler crane were also used in the wind power project and two thermal power stations construction in Chile. It had been stably operated for nearly 1800 hours until the time when the copper mine collapsed.
