Lightening road for children -SANY Foundation initiates charity activity on Int’l Volunteer Day

On Dec 5, the International Volunteer Day, SANY Foundation donated almost a thousand solar lamps to four schools in Ludian, a remote mountainous county in Yunan province, southwestern China. All the lamps were raised in “Darkness Challenge” welfare activity, initiated by SANY Foundation and SANY Group within three days at Bauma China.

Ludian county in northeastern Yunan province is of complex landform and was struck by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake in 2014. The roads to the four primary schools are very dangerous with some only 2 meters wide, just next to the cliff, and hit by landslides sometimes. And before 5:00 a.m. when it is still dark, these children need to go to school.

Witnessing the steep mountain roads and darkness outside, SANY volunteers realize how important it is to give these children a lamp to more clearly see the road ahead. In classroom, they also taught the children basic safety knowledge and how to protect themselves in danger.

On this special day, SANY Foundation with their actions demonstrate the volunteer spirit by bringing the light and hope to the school children. The children’s passion to knowledge has been driving SANY to make sustainable support in education.
