SANY rolls out wind turbines to generate power at low wind speed

  • 2017.01.19

SANY launched 2.0MW wind turbine SE11520 on Jan 18 in Beijing Industrial Park, which will support customers to expand in the wind power market of low wind speed.

The new wind turbine could be equipped with ø100-120m blades, operate in 5.5m/s wind farms and at full power for 2,000 hours per year, satisfying wind power generation demand at low winds.

“Leveraging the cutting-edge technologies of SANY and German companies, the wind machine boasts 99% availability and is one of the lightest model in the market,” SANY Heavy Energy Chief Engineer Dai Qinghua said. In addition, the modular design enables SE11520 to deploy different modules subject to specific conditions, such as heating, dehumidity and deicing.

“All the key components have passed the most rigorous tests to ensure the WTG’s high reliability and productivity,” SANY Heavy Energy GM Tan Bo said, “We also work with world-renowned companies about wind turbine control algorithm for improved power generation and lower load.”

Since its establishment in 2013, SANY Heavy Energy has been proactively developed the WTGs and expanded the wind power markets worldwide. Until now, it has owned doubly-fed and permanent magnet technology, and core technology of key components such as blades, gearbox, generators and control system, and exported machines to the Ralls Wind Farm in the United States, ADAMA II in Ethiopia and wind power projects in India.
