How to Avoid Cane Engine Overheating During Summer

Crane engine overheating occurs frequently during operations in summer. Measures have to be taken to prevent engine failure and damage to other electrical components.

There are some factors that make the engine of a crane in high temperature in summer time, such as lack of coolant, radiator clogging, water pump failure, blocked coolant passages, wrong temperature reading caused by water thermometer failure, fan blade deformation or breakage, thermostat failure and operations that run for extended periods.

The engine radiator’s clogging can raise engine temperature. In addition, a crane engine becoming hot also appears when the engine water pump fails and the fan blades have adverse deformation or breakage. Thermostat breakdown and long running operation can give rise to high temperature engine.

For the reasons mentioned above, here are the steps you can take when you find your engine is too hot in summer. Get off the crane and find out the causes for high temperature. Make sure whether the water temperature gauge works well and whether the level of water tank is normal. If there is serious water leakage in the crane radiator, repair the cooling pipe. When examining the problem, it should be noted the problem occurs suddenly or not and take corresponding measures accordingly.
