What makes SANY portal slewing crane so popular worldwide

  • 2017.03.10

SANY’s portal slewing cranes have been widely used in various major ports around the world, for instance the Johor port in Malaysia and Zhuhai port in southern China. They have demonstrated exceptional efficiency, reliability, safety and low energy consumption, winning high recognition in the local markets.

Malaysia uses 2 units of SANY’s SMQG4006 port machinery with rated hoisting capacity under grab of 40 tons, rated hoisting capacity under hook of 35 tons and maximum radius of 38 meters. They adopt high strength steel structure and energy recycling devices, greatly prolonging the machine's service life and reducing the maintenance costs. The customer from Malaysia speaks highly of the performance of SANY's portal cranes in the past years.

In 2015, China’s Zhuhai Port purchased 8 units of portal cranes from SANY to handle container and bulk cargo. The rated hoisting capacity is as high as 120t, rail span 16m and hoisting speed 28m/min. The full automatic tracking for spreader slewing of SANY’s port machinery makes it possible to record the crane’s slewing angle in real time, keeping the container in parallel with the shoreline for automatic tracking.

Safety and reliability are also critical to SANY’s portal slewing crane. It features over hoisting prevention for hook and speed protection for hoisting mechanism which prolongs the service life and uptime of the machine, creating more profits for the customers business. Active inveter technology is applied to transfer the stored dynamic power and potential power into electricity and be recycled to the grid. At the same time, it resists the pollution to the grid from higher harmonic voltage, thus increasing the power factor of the equipment.
