On August 26 afternoon, an urgent call was ringing in our Singapore Service Center. A client reported that his 160-ton crane was lifting a 20-ton bridge pier when it suddenly lost power, leaving the load suspended mid-air.
Immediately, the branch dispatched the seasoned service engineer Bai to deal with the emergency. After 40 minutes of receiving the call, Bai arrived at the site and inspected the electric circuit and gas circuit instantly. Before long, he discovered that the issue was due to a faulty engine air pump.
Drawing from his 14 years of experience as a service engineer, Bai Yu quickly devised a solution. He coordinated with the client to bring an AC air compressor along with hoses and fittings. He connected an external air source to replace the malfunctioning engine air pump temporarily, so as to inflate the equipment. After 20 minutes of inflating the pressure to 8 bar, Bai asked the driver to start the engine. The crane operated successfully on the first try, and the equipment functioned normally! As the 20-ton pier was safely lowered to the ground, everyone’s anxieties were relieved, and it was 4 a.m., nine hours after Bai received the task. The client was deeply impressed by the SANY service team’s swift action and superb professional competence, giving a thumbs-up to the team.
