When Every Minute Counts: How SANY Service Team Saves a Forestry Machine in France

The sun has just risen and Robins sing their early morning songs in the branches. It was just past 6:00 am when Bryan Tessier, one of our service engineers in France, received an urgent call from a dealer – an end customer was experiencing an issue with their SY215 forestry machine, which led to a significant loss of productivity.

Knowing that they were under considerable time constraints, Bryan therefore decided to visit the site with the technical team from SANY France and a representative from the dealer. After a 400 km drive, they arrived at the site and started the test on the machine immediately. After verifying the different pressure measurements of the machine, which were all correct, the issue with the boom lift persisted. Then, they turned to the hydraulic pressure and safety valve check. Finally, it was found that there was too much hydraulic flow on the stick retraction.

However, it was already 10:15 p.m., making it impossible to change the machine's control unit version. At the same time, given the short deadline, the customer needed the machine to be fully operational by the next morning to continue the work. Thus, Bryan had to find an alternative solution while waiting for a new software version. He studied the hydraulic circuit, deciding to disconnect the flow accumulation solenoid valve for the stick retraction, in order to limit the hydraulic flow assigned to this function. To everyone’s relief, it worked!

The next morning, the customer called again, confirming the machine was back in operation and thanking the SANY service team for their quick response and professionalism.
